If you’re a Wingstop devotee like myself, your inbox likely took a mysterious turn this morning. The wing experts at Wingstop UK sent out a cryptic e-mail with the title ‘New side loading 👀’
Inside, the e-mail contained a heavily blurred photo of a hand pouring ranch sauce the newly teased side with the title ‘Time for a new side piece’ and that it will be landing Monday 19th January.
While Wingstop is trying to play hard to get, I’ve done some digging and I think I know what the side piece might actually be. It looks like we might finally be getting the Cajun Fried Corn.
What is Cajun Fried Corn?
Cajun Fried Corn is a cult-favourite staple from Wingstop’s US menu that fans in the United Kingdom have been begging for since the brand first landed in the UK back in 2018.
Unlike standard corn on the cob, these are served as “mini cobs”. They are deep-fried until the kernels become slightly crispy and caramelised, then tossed in a buttery blend of Wingstop’s signature Cajun seasoning. The result is a savoury, sweet, and smoky flavour profile that offers a distinct “pop” with every bite.
In the US, it’s often paired with a side of house-made Ranch for dipping—a move we highly recommend once it hits UK counters on the 19th.
